Panamarenko Tribute 24/01/20 - 22/03/20

Around the world in 80 years- part 1

Unfortunately, the exhibition is closed due to the COVID-19 precautions.

From celebration to homage exhibition, it was a turn of events that we did not expect. Sorry for the loss but all the more enthusiastic to turn the exhibition into a beautiful tribute.

From January 24 till March 22, 2020

Campo & Campo, Antwerp

From floating constructions and flying backpacks to pedal-powered helicopters, zeppelins, airplanes, junebugs, submarines, and chickens wandering around. To describe Panamarenko, or Henri Van Herwegen with the single term ‘artist’, detracts from his abilities. He should be called an inventor as well, an engineer, a technician, a mathematician, a philosopher and a visionary. His body of works is so unique and innovative, that it is impossible to frame it within a certain style or movement. His miraculous world is centered between pure science, technical genius and childish enthusiasm. Panamarenko would have celebrated his 80th anniversary next year. So 2020 will be a tribute year. With a pop-up exhibition at  Campo & Campo starting in January, continued in the summer months at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Antwerp and a walk through downtown Antwerp. Tickets for the exhibition at Campo & Campo can be booked as from October 25 at

Starting in January 2020, there is a unique tribute exhibition at Campo & Campo in Antwerp. His most beloved works will be brought together, supplemented with models, rarely seen drawings, historical videos and other objects from his imaginary works.

The second part of the tribute follows from May to August. During the festive city walk ‘The Pana Parcours’, you will stop at the places where the grandmaster left his mark. At the same time, you can visit the M HKA for a virtual reality exhibition and an overview of Panamarenko’s life. Thanks to the collaboration with M HKA, his house on Antwerp’s Biekorfstraat is being restored and opened to the public.
